STUART, FL – The 18th Annual Robert F. Novins Memorial Reception & Golf Tournament took place Friday and Saturday, May 3rd and 4th. The reception was held Friday night at Carsons Tavern in Stuart followed by the golf tournament on Saturday at the Stuart Yacht & Country Club. The event brought in 240 reception guests and raised almost $130,000 for Volunteers in Medicine Clinic.

Guests didn’t let the rain slow them down at the reception Friday night! They enjoyed dancing to the live music performed by The Klik, an open bar, live and silent auctions, a 50/50 raffle and delicious food. The event was open to the public and the auction items attracted everybody. With items ranging from rides to school on a fire truck, to golf foursomes at lavish, private golf clubs, there was something for everyone.

The golf tournament ensued on Saturday and once again the players didn’t let the rain slow them down! After a putting contest and nine holes of golf, the country club had to call an end to the game due to a swiftly approaching storm. The players then came inside for another live and silent auction, Kentucky Derby games and great food!

This year’s reception and golf tournament was a huge success. After 18 years of hosting and helping plan the event, Carson Novins and his foursome – Nick Price, Troy Dean and George Olsen – won the tournament for the first time! They went home wearing the jackets passed down by the winners every year as well as the coveted trophy, while many others went home with prizes, free goodies and auction items.
