50 Years of Medicine
Medical Director Dr. Howard Voss: 50 years' of caring & teaching.VIM CLINIC SERVICES
At the VIM Clinic, we respect the dignity of all our patients. We provide a model of ethical medical care that seeks to heal physical illness as well as the injury that results from bias, stigma and indifference. In addition to general medicine, we can offer some specialist care thanks to the support of local practitioners who donate their time at VIM Clinic or accept our patient referrals.
Are you, or do you know a hard-working person who doesn’t earn enough to pay for health insurance, doesn’t have health coverage at work and doesn’t qualify for government health benefits? There are thousands of uninsured residents in Martin County who need basic medical care. The VIM Clinic fills that gap with medical professionals who donate their time and services so we can provide free primary care to qualified individuals.
The VIM Clinic is staffed by over 90 volunteer physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, medical assistants and lay personnel. Our culture of caring is at the heart of what we do. How people are treated here is as important as the medical care they receive. We understand that our patients are good people who need help, are surviving on limited resources, and doing what they can to get through each day.
The VIM Clinic would not be able to meet the growing needs of our less fortunate residents without the generous support of partners such as Martin Memorial Health Systems, Martin County Medical Society, Martin County Health Department, the Friends of Volunteers in Medicine Clinic, local businesses and a caring community of individuals.
