Our mission is to meet the health and wellness needs of the medically underserved population of Martin County. This mission is accomplished primarily through volunteers, retired medical professionals and area residents, working together with community partners throughout Martin County.

VIM Clinic serves the health and wellness needs of residents who are not eligible for any government programs, are not covered by insurance and have household incomes below 200 percent of the poverty level. That’s less than $23,760 for a single person, or $32,040 for a household of two. VIM Clinic provides a medical home where comprehensive, coordinated care is provided in an environment of compassion, respect and hope.

In 2013, there were over 12,500 patient visits to VIM Clinic. This represents a significant savings to taxpayers by reducing costly visits to the hospital emergency room by uninsured patients. Because VIM Clinic has a small staff supplemented by nearly 90 volunteers, more than 98 percent of our funding goes directly to patient services. Because of our partnerships with members of the medical community, pharmaceutical companies and Martin Health System, VIM Clinic was able to leverage each dollar more than tenfold – delivering $9.2 million worth of services on a budget of almost $800,000 in 2013.

May we have eyes to see those rendered invisible and excluded.
May we open our arms and hearts to reach out and include them.
May we extend healing hands to touch their lives with love.
And in the process, may we heal ourselves.
