Stuart-Volunteers in Medicine Clinic has joined the #GivingTuesday movement, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. This year, #GivingTuesday falls on Tuesday, November 29, directly on the heels of the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and serves to kick-off the holiday giving season.

Volunteers in Medicine Clinic’s #GivingTuesday initiative is called #GiveRNcare and was conceived as a two-fold opportunity for people in our community; to honor the registered nurses in their lives – the men and women who care for others with compassion and professionalism, and to give the gift of volunteer RN care to those in our community who cannot afford health care services. Through various social media platforms, VIM Clinic hopes to initiate meaningful and heartfelt conversations about nurses, celebrate nursing triumphs, and engage the community to share their own inspiring, transformative stories about the nurses they know, because after all, everyone knows a nurse.

The Volunteer Registered Nurse Program at Volunteers in Medicine Clinic consists of 770 hours of quality, comprehensive, volunteer nursing care, at the cost of $35 per hour. The goal of the #GiveRNcare campaign is to support the Volunteer Registered Nurse Program at VIM Clinic, an annual cost of $26,950.00.
