HOWARD E. VOSS, MD, MACP, Medical Director & CEO
A VIM volunteer since 1998, Dr. Voss retired from private practice in Internal Medicine and Allergy-Immunology in Stamford, Conn. He served as Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at New York University School of Medicine; Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at New York Medical College; Chairman of the Medical Staff of Stamford Hospital; President of the New England Society of Allergy; and President of the New York Allergy Society. He is Clinical Professor Florida State University College of Medicine and Professor Florida Atlantic University College of Nursing.
Vickie is one of our two Clinical Directors. She is an Adult Nurse Practitioner since graduating from Columbia University in 1994. Experiences include a private Internal Medicine Practice in Ohio. She also has a BS in Human Nutrition & Food Management from Ohio State University. She enjoys precepting nurse practitioner students. Although Vickie has lived in Florida for a while, she is still a Buckeye!
Born in Stuart, Araceli obtained her Certified Medical Assistant training at the Lincoln College of Technology in West Palm Beach. She did her practicum at the VIM Clinic, then became a valued member of our team when she joined our staff in 2009. As she is bilingual, she frequently translates for providers, when patients only speak and understand Spanish.
CHERYL DONOFRIO, MA
Cheryl began her career at VIM Clinic as a certified phlebotomist volunteer and immensely enjoyed the contact with patients and comradery with the staff and other volunteers. She joined our staff in 2007 as an MA and has become a valuable and valued member of our medical team in the last 10 years. Cheryl has an outgoing, happy personality and is constantly learning more skills that will help her achieve her goal to get her nursing degree from Indian River State College.
Alan began his career at VIM as nurse practitioner student and returned after graduation as a volunteer provider. After completing his DNP he returned as one of the VIM’s clinical directors in 2016. He sees patients and enjoys being a preceptor to nurse practitioner students. His first health care experience was as a Coast Guard EMT. Since then he has earned degrees from Palm Beach State College, Excelsior College, Ball State University and Frontier Nursing University.
JESSICA JOHNSON, CMA
Jessica is a graduate of Keiser University, where she made the Dean’s list for her 4.0 GPA. As an RMA at VIM Clinic since 2010, she performs all duties of a medical assistant and works closely with our volunteer providers. Everyone loves her professionalism, helpfulness, and great sense of humor. She is busy raising 3 boys outside of the Clinic.
TATIANA GODOY, MA
Tatiana began volunteering at the VIM Clinic as a certified nursing assistant and phlebotomist and joined the staff in 2017. Her passion for helping people, kind personality and eagerness to make a difference makes her a great addition to the team. She came to the United States from Columbia at an early age and graduated from Martin County High School. Her long-term goal is to become a Registered Nurse and work in an ER or a trauma setting.
KIM OUELLETTE, MSW
A graduate of Florida Atlantic University with a Masters of Social Work, Kim has been in the healthcare field since 2010. She got her start working in substance abuse. This experience has given Kim a breadth of knowledge in working with vulnerable populations such as the homeless while helping clients obtain basic needs, including a safe living environment, food, and healthcare.
MARY FIELDS, Executive Director & COO
Mary joined the VIM Clinic in 1996, 3 months after its doors opened. She directs the administrative and financial functions. Mary believes the Golden Rule of “treating others how you want to be treated” holds true at the VIM Clinic where the generosity of talent and time of the volunteers and staff is evident each day. She completed LEADERship Martin County in 2003 and is a member of the Junior League of Martin County, where she served as President in 2002. She has a BA in Speech Communications from the University of Maryland, College Park.
CARTY BURLEIGH, Office Assistant
A volunteer fundraiser since 2009, Carty joined VIM Clinic as a part-time staff member in late 2012. Her primary responsibility is to screen patients for eligibility, but Carty brings a lot of talents to the clinic, having worked in financial planning, marketing, and hotel management. A long-time Florida resident, she’s been in Martin County since 1979.
ELLEN GADE, Patient Service Representative
Ellen has been at the VIM Clinic since 2006 and is responsible for clerical duties at the front office. Her kind disposition shines through with each interaction with patients and staff. She worked in an orthodontist’s office for 17 years before moving to the Treasure Coast.
KENRICK THOMAS, Communications & Marketing Coordinator
Kenrick got his Associate degree at Indian River State College and his Bachelor’s degree in Journalism & Mass Communications from Ashford University. He won four Associated Press awards as a news reporter for WQCS 88.9 FM, and he was also a freelance reporter for Treasure Coast Newspapers before joining VIM. He is originally from Long Island, NY and moved to Florida to be with his family in 2010.
PETRA EBERLE, Executive Assistant
Originally from Switzerland, Petra has moved to the United States in 2003 and has lived in Martin County since 2011. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Communications, she held positions as advertising account executive, project manager, and executive assistant. At VIM Clinic she helps with administrative tasks, event coordination, bookkeeping, and volunteer coordination.
NICOLE KING, MS, Development Coordinator
Nicole’s been working in the non-profit sector for 20 years and has worked in Martin County since 2002. She has an MS in Family/Child Sciences with a focus in Child Development from Florida State University. She’s worked for various non-profits such as then School Readiness Coalition, now called the Early Learning Coalition, oversaw the operations of Whole Child Connection, Inc., and founded the Willow House, which eventually merged with Project LIFT and became the Willow Project. Before coming to VIM, she took a hiatus from non-profits and worked for the City of Stuart in the City Manager’s office.
