Our mission is to understand and meet the health and wellness needs of the medically underserved population of Martin County. This mission will be accomplished primarily through volunteers, retired medical professionals and area residents, working together with Martin County medical resources.
PATIENTS & VOLUNTEERS
VIM Clinic serves the health and wellness needs of residents who are not eligible for any government programs, are not covered by insurance and have household incomes below 200 percent of the poverty level. Comprehensive, high-quality medical care is provided by compassionate medical personnel and volunteers, in concert with the support of the community.
IMPACT
VIM Clinic handles over 14,500 patient visits a year and saves taxpayers millions by reducing the need for hospital visits by uninsured patients. More than 98 percent of our funding goes directly to program services, thanks to our dedicated volunteers and a small paid staff. With a 2012 budget of $716,000, we provided over $9 million in services, thanks in large part to the generosity of the medical community, pharmaceutical companies and Martin Health System.
VISION
May we have eyes to see those rendered invisible and excluded.
May we open our arms and hearts to reach out and include them.
May we extend healing hands to touch their lives with love.
And in the process, may we heal ourselves.
