At VIM Clinic, we owe much to many people
Thank you to the organizations and foundations that provide us with grant funding so that we can better serve the needs of our patients.
In 2013, Florida Blue Foundation provided a $200,000, two-year grant to expand mental health care services to VIM’s current high-risk population. The program is now fully staffed with the addition of a psychiatric nurse practitioner and a social worker. Our social worker streamlines admissions, improves outreach and coordinates with other social service agencies to meet patients’ needs. The goal of this grant is to expand mental health services to patients with complex cases, create greater access to pro bono medications and reduce unnecessary emergency room use for mental health issues.
The Hobe Sound Community Chest supports agencies that provide essential services to residents in need. In 2011, HSCC awarded VIM Clinic $45,000 to provide health care for Martin County residents without access to insurance.
The mission of Allegany Franciscan Ministries is to be a catalyst for systemic change by committing resources to promote physical, mental, spiritual, societal, and cultural well-being in communities. In 2013, Allegany provided VIM Clinic with $50,000 as part of a two-year, $100,000 grant to establish a new Healthcare for the Homeless Initiative. That initiative is now underway with the addition of a social worker and the establishment of a collaborative group of service providers and other community stakeholders.
