At VIM Clinic, we owe much to many people.
Thank you to the organizations and foundations that provide us with grant funding so that we can better serve the needs of our patients.
The Susan G. Komen for the Cure South Florida represents one of the nation’s largest private funding sources for breast health and breast cancer screening, education, and treatment support programs. Their service area includes the medically underserved populations of Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie Counties. Thanks to SGK’s support, VIM Clinic has been providing clinical breast exams for all eligible patients. We received funding for bilingual educational materials in 2009, followed by $25,000 in 2010 and 2011 for Mammography Screening, Diagnostics & Treatment projects.
The Hobe Sound Community Chest supports agencies that provide essential services to residents in need. In 2011, HSCC awarded VIM Clinic $47,000, up from $30,000 in 2010.
The mission of Allegany Franciscan Ministries is to be a catalyst for systemic change by committing resources to promote physical, mental, spiritual, societal, and cultural well-being in communities. In 2009, Allegany provided VIM Clinic with $32,290 as a Safety Challenge grant, $6,500 for diabetes care. Then in 2010, VIM Clinic received a three-year, $150,000 grant for patient health care.
The Blue Foundation, now known as the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida Foundation, has been supporting VIM Clinic’s diabetes education and care programs. In 2009, we received a three-year, $60,000 grant to help meet a critical need in the community by helping diabetic patients manage their disease through education, counseling and treatment. VIM Clinic empowered patients to change their lifestyle and diet. This grant enabled us to provide diabetes testing kits for patients to monitor their glucose levels and ultimately live healthier lives.
